About Us
Our story began in the early 2000s, when a long-held fascination with Subaru became something real — I became the proud owner of my first turbocharged Subaru.
By then, Subaru had already earned a special place in rally history. The blue-and-gold cars, the unmistakable sound of the boxer engine and the fearless driving seen in the World Rally Championship left a lasting impression. Colin McRae, who drove for Subaru from 1993 to 1998 and became World Champion in 1995, represented the bold and spectacular side of rallying. Carlos Sainz competed for Subaru in 1994 and 1995, while Richard Burns — a Subaru driver in 1993–1995 and again in 1999–2001 — brought the marque another World Championship title in 2001. Petter Solberg continued that legacy, driving for Subaru from 2000 to 2008 and becoming World Champion in 2003.
In Latvia, that same passion was strengthened by the achievements of the legendary rally crew Ivars Caune and Andris Šimkus. At the 1997 Network Q RAC Rally in Great Britain, they delivered an unforgettable performance in their Group N Subaru Impreza. On the opening stage, the Latvian crew set the second-fastest time overall, beaten only by Colin McRae in a factory World Rally Car. It was a remarkable demonstration of what experience, courage and determination could achieve.
Motorsport has also always been close to our family. Over the years, our family has been involved in building competition cars, organising events and taking part in rallies and other motorsport disciplines. Cars have never been simply a means of transport for us. They have brought together technical knowledge, competition, teamwork and countless hours spent in garages, service parks and on rally stages.
Working on our own cars taught us how much time, patience and knowledge it can take to find the correct part, suitable oil, reliable equipment or a product that truly fits the intended purpose. We also learned that many other car owners face exactly the same challenge — especially those who are busy, new to the automotive world or looking for something that ordinary stores do not offer.
That experience eventually led to SubieTime.com, a Subaru enthusiast community established in 2017, and later to SubieTime.Shop.
